The Kytäjä Trophy, an open competition organised by Kytäjä Golf Oy is played this Saturday on the North West course and represents the final chance for Kytäjä members to earn KCT points before the top 30 players qualify for the KCT Tour Championship which is played on the 20th September.
The top 20 or 25 players in the KCT Order of Merit have quite a safe position for finishing in the top 30 but those ranked between 25 and 30 will either need to pick up points in the Kytäjä Trophy or hope that certain other people are not successful.
The current KCT Top 40 can be seen below (NOTE - updated 12.9.2014 due to errors in the kk-kisa results received from the caddiemaster)
The mens eclectic leaderboard was blessed by a completely new number as former captain Reijo Viipola recorded the first ever hole in one in the mens eclectic, making his ace on the 9th. Congratulations to Reijo.
For me personally this has been a great spell on the golf course as I managed to record my first Mid Tour win last weekend with a 3 shot win in the final event of the year which was played over the North West course. Somehow I managed to leave my playing partner Mika Piltz behind with a great start to the final round and could afford a few wobbles at the end without throwing away the win. I have practiced a lot for this, and played good golf without getting any wins, so I was and still am very happy with the result. I have had problems to stop smiling since last Sunday and I hope that the feeling remains for a while.
The Mid Tour season concludes this weekend with the team championship with the men's team competing at Alastaro while the ladies do battle at St Laurence. Wish us luck!
