Louis Oosthuizen really impressed me with the way he played and the way he conducted himself throughout the tournament, his swing is a thing of beauty, making a powerful move through the ball while maintaining perfect balance and he provided an amazing moment on the 2nd hole in the final round with an albatross (his first ever) which was only the 4th albatross in Masters history. His ability to keep calm and to retain his sense of perspective through the whole experience, despite falling agonisingly short of the green jacket, was something that very few people could have managed to achieve.
In total contrast to the calm precision of Louis Oosthuizen, Bubba Watson was like a raw force of nature... conjuring shots up from all different angles with his self-tought swing (containing many elements that the instruction manuals would advise against) and showing his emotions for all the world to see, from his second shot on the first where a "mud-ball" in the middle of the fairway sent his approach off target, right through to the floods of tears which followed the winning putt.
Either of these two players would have been a worthy Masters champion but in the end it was an improbably good recovery shot from the trees on the second play-off hole which set Bubba up for victory in the first major of 2012.
One thing which the Masters always means for me is that it is time for the golf season to begin... which is why the cold temperatures and the remaining snow are starting to really get on my nerves, I want to get on the golf course!
Here's hoping for some tropical weather over the next few days so that we can get the Finnish golf season under way at last.
