All of these events build towards the first ever Kytäjä Club Tour Championship on September 22nd where the top-30 in the KCT Order of Merit will fight it out to win the KCT overall. To remind you, each one of the 30 qualifying players will have a mathematical chance to take the trophy (dependent on the results of others) while the top 5 qualifying players have their destiny in their own hands, if they win the Tour Championship then they win the whole KCT.
In order to make it easier for everyone to see where they currently stand in the KCT Order of Merit I have included the points from the matchplay events already now, even though the final stages of each event is still in progress. In cases where the event is still in progress then those players whose final position is not yet decided are included with the minimum amount of KCT points they will earn from the event (i.e. the points they will get if they lose the next match).
For example...
- Aki Erjonen and Janne Räsänen have to play each other in the final of the Miesten Tasoituksellinen Reikäpeli. The winner will earn 100 KCT points and the runner up will earn 70 KCT points. As we dont know who will win, but we do know that each will get at least 70 KCT points, I have shown each of them with 70 KCT points from that event.
All of these values which can still change are shown in red font in the KCT Order of Merit. Once the results are confirmed I will update the actual values and use a black font to indicate that they are final.
Apologies if this has confused anyone... that was not the intention, but my opinion was that it would be helpful for all KCT players to know as much as possible at this point about how the matchplay events would effect the KCT standings.
Good luck to all players in the remaining battle to secure a place in the top 30 or the top 5 of the KCT Order of merit ahead of the Tour Championship!
