During the last 2 weeks... Minna Keski-Kastari won the ladies handicap matchplay, Jari Pussinen and Ari Mäkinen won the Nelipallo Cup, Kenneth Halin won the seniors handicap matchplay, Niko Helin won the KCT, Hannu Haimakainen won the Mens Eclectic (scratch and handicap), Jesper Grimbergen won the Junior Eclectic (scratch and handicap), Johanna Järnström and I won the Reikäpeli Cup and Timo Kohonen won the mens handicap matchplay. Congratulations to all the winners!
On Saturday at 1000 the last matchplay final of the year will be played as I take on Petri Syrjänen in the Reikäpelimestaruus final (scratch matchplay from the back tees). Petri has had a lot of good rounds this year, finishing in the top 20 on the Audi Tour and playing in the final group in the club championship... so it should be a good match.
Monday is the final day for the ladies eclectic... the last remaining prize-winners for 2013 will be decided and set things up for the 2013 Päätöskilpailu (enter now with the caddiemasters!).
As well as all these club competitions, Kytäjä has recently been represented with considerable success in major international competitions - Minna Kaarnalahti finished second in the Senior Ladies British Amateur Open at Royal Portrush. This is a terrific achievement (although I am sure she was hoping to win) and it is great to have a player like Minna flying the flag for Kytäjä in such prestigious competitions.
I am very happy to see such healthly levels of competitive golf being played at Kytäjä and by Kytäjä players, our club is growing its traditions and writing its history and all of us get to be a part of it. Its a lot of fun.
